Artist Statement
I majored in oriental fine art, having Bachelor and Master degrees in Korea. I worked as a high school teacher and a college lecturer, and had solo and group exhibitions. The subject of my works comes primarily from nature; flowers, leaves, trees, butterflies, wind, mountains, etc. Inspired by various colors from nature, those objects are re-interpreted and expressed in my artwork. I use oriental natural pigment, including oriental ink, and Korean rice-paper. My works portray the soothing, warm bits that we often overlook in everyday life.
