PROCESS EXAMPLE 2: Acrylic portrait PAINTING

step ONE: THE INSPIRATION

Provide us with one or more photographs of the person (or animal) that we are painting.

STEP TWO: THE COLLABORATION

The client wanted to give this piece to her father as a gift. The client wanted an “abstracted and impressionistic portrait with fun, playful colors with the focus being on the ring and cigar”.

STEP THREE: PAINTING THE PORTRAIT

We begin by generally sketching out the figure in the space, and slowly build up the background before starting on the figure.

We then begin filling and defining the face and middle-ground.

We continue to fill in the middle ground and then move to the foreground.

STEP FOUR: READY TO TAKE HOME
